Ireland's Eye

Lying just north of Howth Harbour Ireland's Eye can be reached by boat from the East Pier during the summer months. Measuring some 28 hectares the island is uninhabited, its only buildings are a Martello Tower and the little ruined  church said to have been founded in the sixth century. During the early summer months the place is vibrantly alive with the sights and sounds of breeding seabirds. The island is protected under the Howth SAAO.
